Case the Catalogue

In the not too distant past, Stampin’ Up! used to call their annual catalogue the Idea Book & Catalogue.  This is because the book not only shows us the stamping images, but also has many, many wonderful pictures full of fabulous ideas of how to use them!  These images can make a big difference in our decisions about whether or not we like and purchase a set.

I love the Bird Banter set and the sentiments are lots of fun.  I especially like “Toucan Sam” not that I was ever allowed to eat Fruit Loops 😉

Often I will go back to the catalogue to remind me of the reasons I fell in love with a set.  This card is a product of that search.  It’s not exact because, of course, I made it my own.

I used a Sale-A-Bration item, Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes for the sky behind my birds and changed to a red balloon. I dyed the silver Bakers Twine black with a couple drops of Archival Black re-inker and rubbing alcohol.  This is an easy way to change the colours of many of our white or vanilla ribbon embellishments.  The bricks have been lightly sponged to bring up the contrast of their edges.

We all have stamp sets and accessories that we purchased and haven’t used.  I strongly recommend a trip through the catalogue for the ideas that are right there in front of your nose.  Get those sets off the shelf and create!

Happy Stamping!
