Happy Wishes for You and my 5th Year with WordPress

I signed into WordPress this morning after having missed posting at all in July and was reminded that I signed up for this blog page 5 years ago.  So happy blogiversary to me! Well, I certainly haven’t given my blog the love it deserves but I am trying to make it more regularly.

Summers are so busy and this July was no exception.  One of the cards that we made at my July class was a basic ink to block background with the classic Happy Wishes for You stamp set.Watermarked2(2018-08-09-1039)

By applying ink (in this case my new fav… Mango Melody) straight to the clear stamp block and stamping it onto the shimmer white cardstock you can add dimension to your card without adding another layer.  I recommend the stampin’ pierce mat under your paper to obtain even coverage of ink.  After stamping we used the leftover ink from the block and our aquapainter to blend and fill it any white areas left.  Once dry the Happy Birthday was stamped with Stazon Ink and the Birthday was coloured in with the dark Pumpkin Pie Blends.  Gotta love those Blends markers for easy even coverage!  A little pizzazz was added using the fireworks stamp from the Birthday Background set, Faceted Dots and then word Happy and the banner were stamped onto shimmer white, fussy cut and glued onto the card to stand out 🙂 A thin black border and a Mango Melody card base make your Birthday greeting pop of the page!  I like to add a Whisper White insert and my envelope both decorated with a coordinating stamp.
